Perch

Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 4, 2026

The short version: Perch does not collect your personal data. Everything the app measures — your head motion, your upright baseline, and your session history — is processed and stored only on your device. Nothing is sent to us or to any third party.

This Privacy Policy explains how the Perch iOS app (“Perch”, “the app”) handles information. Perch is provided by Brandon Briggs (“we”, “us”, “our”). By using Perch, you agree to this policy.

Information we do not collect

We do not operate accounts, servers, or analytics for Perch. Specifically, we do not:

Information processed on your device

To coach your posture, Perch works with the following data entirely on your device. It is never uploaded, and we never see it:

Because this information lives only on your device, deleting the app removes it.

Motion & Fitness permission

Perch requests access to Motion & Fitness solely to read AirPods head-motion so it can detect your posture. This data is used on-device for coaching and is not collected by us. You can revoke this permission at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Motion & Fitness; the core coaching feature will not work without it.

Subscriptions and Apple

Perch offers auto-renewable subscriptions that are purchased and processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment details. Apple provides us only with anonymized information needed to unlock your subscription (for example, whether a valid subscription exists). Your purchase is handled under Apple’s Privacy Policy and the App Store terms.

Children’s privacy

Perch is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any information from children. Because the app collects no personal data at all, no such information is gathered from any user.

Data retention and deletion

We hold no data about you, so there is nothing for us to retain or delete on our end. All app data is stored locally; to erase it, delete Perch from your device. To cancel or manage a subscription, use Settings → [your Apple ID] → Subscriptions on your device.

Security

Since your information stays on your device, it is protected by your device’s own security (passcode, Face ID/Touch ID, and system encryption). We recommend keeping your device secured and up to date.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be reflected here, and continued use of the app after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
